PRV Audio’s 6MB550FT-4 6.5″ Forte Series midbass was specially tailored to give you more Xmax and less distortion on mid low midbass frequencies, with its Peak-to-Peak excursion going up to 14 mm (0.55″) this speaker can give a heck of a punch!
The tall 2″ voice coil ensures high heat dissipation and the necessary motor strength to deliver high sensitivity even on high power with the minimum distortion with recommended High Pass filter of 90Hz at 18 dB Octave.
All this attention to detail makes the 6MB550FT-4 one impressive driver. With 94 dB efficiency and 550 watts power handling this midbass speaker is ideally used in stage monitor, custom door panels, or even mini stuntwall setup. The smooth response from 85 to 7,500 Hz makes it perfect for 2 or 3-way designs.

A rigid cast aluminum frame with spokes to minimize reflections back into the cone. To drive the voice coil, a large ferrite magnet is used with a very precise machined top and bottom plate.
The additional forced vent in the backplate for the coil allows this driver to handle up to 550 watts RMS without issue.

Its special composed spider reduces distortion at a high excursion and double roll surround keep cone travel linear at high excursion, while its copper tinsel lead wire is capable of high current transfer makes this driver not only unique but gives all high-performance characteristics and high-quality components providing exceptional clarity, detail, and dynamics sound.
Its CCAW voice coil has 14.8 mm of winding wire, giving it an incredible 5.40 mm Xmax with capability of 14 mm Peak-to-Peak excursion before damage, which allows its cone to travel over 0.55″ giving a heck of punch.
Featuring a paper cone has a special high strength paper pulp composition designed to achieve the best possible linearity within the middle frequency range and a special cone treatment specifically dedicated to improving the dampening properties of the moving assembly, thus considerably improving the smooth frequency response.

If you have compression drivers on your system the recommended LPF is 6,500 at 18 dB per octave filter Crossover / BT18 but you may set it lower to blend in better depending on the other components in your system, or you may not use a LPF at low power to take advantage of its high frequency response.

Great sound. I replaced some other brands with these and what a difference! I’ll be ordering a pair of super tweets to finish off my Hayabusa install.
Ive tried a handfull of speakers and these are by far the best they sound good they get extremely loud and i can set my crossover to 100hz (while every other speaker has to be set around 150hz for bass heavy songs) and play any song at full volume with about 200w per speaker i just wish they made a 2ohm version to squeeze a little more power out of my 1000w amp
I’ve got 2 of these per channel on a sundown salt 500.4 crossed at 100hz and they survive! The punch they provide is great
